 The Society in which we live in is slowly getting digitized. We now read and write using technology and perhaps have started thinking in terms of Technology. The society in which we spend a substantial part of our time is now the Digital Society where we receive and send e-mails, browse Internet, participate in online Chats, view message boards and use Computers to create our letters and documents before being printed out and also use the Computer to store our documents for retrieval on a later time.

 This Digital Society which is slowly becoming a significant part of our life has a culture of its own and regulations of its own. Violation of any of the regulations of this society can play havoc with our lives including placing ourselves in jail. 

It is therefore necessary for all budding Netizens of the country to familiarize themselves with the laws of the digital society.

 The Corporates which are employing our young graduates will need them to manage the business of the Company in the Digital Society. The employability of the young graduates will therefore improve if they are accustomed to the laws of the digital society. Such persons are better capable of  taking care of the Information Assets of the Company than some body who does not know the laws of the society in which he or she is working in.

 In order to equip our young graduates in the basics of the laws of the digital society, Cyber Law College, the pioneer in Cyber Law Education in the country has introduced a Foundation course in  “The Laws of the Digital Society”. This is a course which will be offered to the students of an educational institution as a joint programme of the Cyber Law College and the Institution.

 The curriculum of the course is as follows:

1	Nature and Scope of the  Internet Society ( Including I-Governance and WSIS)
2	Nature and Scope of E-Business and E-Governance
3	Digital Contracts
4	IPR in the Digital Society (Copyright, Domain Name Disputes, Patents)
5	Information Technology Act 2000 (Including Digital Signatures)
6	Netizen’s Right to Privacy and Freedom of Speech
7	Managing the Techno Legal Security of Information Assets
8	Media and Jurisdictional Issues of the Digital Society

 The Course will be conducted through weekly classes of 3 hours each for 8 weeks totaling to 24 hours. At the end of the programme, Course Completion certificates would be given to all participants. Based on performance in tests and assessment during class room discussions grades will be indicated to top of the line candidates.

 Classes will be conducted at the premises of the College as per timings convenient to the students.
